In my dad's chest

My dad recently gave me a chest full of photos and documents that are really important to him.
I went through it and it's really interesting to see what's important to dad.
He throws everything out normally so this is just a taste of what made his cut!

He loves family history. There are a lot of old pictures in here.

He loves his grandkids! This is just a sampler of what there is in here! There was soooo many pictures of these little beans!

He loves his daughters!

He loves his family

he also loves pigs, cranes, hunting, fishing, friends...

...and tater juice!

I love having this little peek into his brain! I think I'm going to have to get a big album and put it all together for him someday...

***Happy Second Birthday Miss Sonia***

Oh my goodness.
Sonia is two.

I mean... she has been acting two for a little while...
...but still...

My mum said this marks the end of baby-hood.
I think she's right.

For Sonia's actual birthday (Canada day) daddy got off work a little early and we went into the inner harbour for some dancing and hot dogs. It was a little late in the day for our little/big girl (and we had to run some errands for the upcoming birthday party) so we didn't stick around too long.

On Sunday, we packed up our car..and baba's car...and auntie carrie's car.. and headed to Beacon Hill Park for Sonia's birthday party!

We had snacks, toys, presents, bubbles and even a Dora cake!
We parked it in a great place near some ducks, in the shade and right near the petting zoo.

SERIOUS props to Amie Heemskerk on the amazing cake! This is the second cake we've gotten from her (fourth or fifth in the family) and I'm pretty sure every cake is better than the last! So impressive! Click here to email her if you're looking for a cake!

Sonia was SO excited to see her friends and to open presents! Every time she opened a present she would play with it or run away with it.
(Like the Dora shoes from Kim, Jamie and Penny... she wanted to sleep in them last night!)
And she has been playing with the Dora backpack from the O'Neil's and the bear from Auntie Jackie since she woke up from her nap yesterday!

She also got a tricycle (that I can steer) that she got to try out last night before bed.
As we 'drove' she kept yelling VROOM VROOM and WEEE!
(pictures of that will come later)

Basically, Sonia's birthday was AMAZING! Thank you so much to everyone who helped out and came out! We loved having you a part of her special day!
