The Loss of Internal Personal Space...

Quickly, quickly I am losing the space inside of me which used to house my stomach and intestines...

with 23 weeks done so far... I can almost smell the finish line.
(I was only pregnant for 36wks with Sonia...so I'm hoping for the same again...)

But now comes the fun part...

Constant appointments, blood tests and ultrasounds.
No more energy or sleep.
More bathroom visits than I would like.

But all of it is so worth it for the amazing prize at the end. I'm going to enjoy being pregnant while I am and pay close loving attention to the little (big) kicks from my bean.

I can't wait until September.

Ikea has failed me..

Ikea doesn't sell online (or deliver from stores) ANY children's items or...anything I need.
When I called to inquire into some crib bedding they suggested I go to the Edmonton store...when I said I lived in Victoria they told me that, "a lot of people make Ikea weekend trips".

Wow.

A weekend trip to Edmonton for a $20.00 crib set?

Sounds like a good idea.

19...20...21...

growing...growing...growing...

We are all getting excited for little baby K to join the family! Sonia has been coming up to me and lifting my shirt and kissing my belly, saying 'hi baby' and looking into my belly button to try and see her little 'rooster'.

I can't wait!!!

half done

I am half done this whole process.

I feel like it's taking forever, but I know from before that in reality it passes by so fast.

I'm going to do my best to enjoy it.
No matter how uncomfortable I am.
No matter how much heartburn I get.
And no matter how exhausted I might get.

baby at 20 weeks

Seeing the baby at the ultrasound reminded me of how short a time it's been since I was looking at little Sonia  in her ultrasound. The time has gone so fast since Sonia was born and I can't believe I'm doing it all over again.  I thought it was going to be forever until my little Sonia would be walking and talking but I was wrong.

I can't wait for this little bean to become it's own little person.

An Eventful Trip to Lethbridge

On April 26 Dave, Sunny and I packed up the car and headed off for a two week vacation to Salmon Arm and Lethbridge. We arrived in Salmon Arm late late LATE Tuesday night and got to spend a lovely two days with Daron, Shauna, Emry and Jettaya

~after some rubber arm twisting by Daron~
Shauna and I had a great break from mama-world while the kids (and Dave) napped and Daron worked.

We jumped back in the car on Thursday morning to continue our looong drive to Lethbridge.

The Lethbridge chunk of our vacation was filled with friends, family and some much needed R&R.

We got some time with my sister and her family which Sonia LOVED. It was awesome to get some face time with my sister to catch up with her. I definitely miss living in the same city as her!!
Sonia, though, had a BLAST with her cousins Mackenzie(10), Dawson(7) and Kyle(1) and got to burn TONS of energy in the backyard (with Uncle Dave/Daddy) while Preggo#1 and Preggo#2 sat inside and got fatter!

We also got to spend a lot of time with the Boorsma's, Erik and Sandra. we played some Cranium
(the boys cheated again)
and hung out while the little beans played in the livingroom.

And, of course, we spent some quality time at Backstreet West with Uncle Chris, Uncle Mark and Mister Joe.
After our time in Lethbridge we headed up to Calgary to surprise Dave's brother Daniel for his 30th birthday. He had thought that no one was coming to see him and that he was going to have a quiet night/weekend with his wife and new baby.

wrong.

We had a great weekend shopping, partying, swimming and OF COURSE meeting little Nova Evangeline - the newest little addition to the Blenkin family.

While in Calgary, we stayed in a hotel with Faye and Rodney and Daron's clan. Our room was a little packed with three kids and four adults, but we made it work and it was a lot of fun!

We stopped in Salmon Arm again on the way back for 2 nights because we had an ultrasound appointment in Vernon to find out what our baby is! We got to see Auntie Sarah at work in the clinic AND see our little bean for the first time!

Good vacation overall!
Good to be home.

IT'S A......

I know what the baby is.

Hi little baby _____!!!!!

I know if it's a girl. Or a boy. Or two girls. Or two boys. Or one of each.

I spill the beans this weekend.

What's YOUR guess?!
